North Philly Community Justice Resource Fair to be held Saturday, November 12th
I am writing to invite your participation in the upcoming North Philly Community Justice Resource Fair to be held Saturday, November 12th from 9am-2pm at the Christian Love Worship Cathedral, 813-815 W. Lehigh Avenue.
Support Center for Prison Advocacy is a city-wide criminal justice coalition founded by Kingdom Care Reentry Network and Philadelphia FIGHT. As a unique community-led, community-inspired effort, we are actively reaching out to recovery networks, community organizations, faith leaders, block captains, formerly imprisoned leaders and their families – people and organizations like you! – to establish a coordinated coalition that builds the power of those most affected to address the crisis of imprisonment in our communities. For the past two and a half years we have organized a series of Neighborhood Speak Outs throughout Philadelphia. Speak Outs provide a forum for community members concerned about people in prison and jail to meet and engage in face-to-face dialogue, working together to develop strategies for strengthening community infrastructure and take action to demand the restorative justice that will transform our communities.
The North Philly Community Justice Resource Fair will include a panel discussion on the Philadelphia's "stop and frisk" policy, as well as educational workshops for individuals and families involved in the criminal justice system. Workshop topics include supporting a loved one behind the walls, finding employment after incarceration, youth and the criminal justice system and more. The flier for the event is attached so that you may distribute it to your network.
