Free the River Park explores a neighborhood's ultimately victorious efforts to create and preserve access to the new Schuykill River Park despite the adamant objections of the CSX Railroad.
The short documentary (15 min) chronicles the protracted campaign by residents and elected officials to win over CSX. Featuring interviews with park advocates and elected officials, including Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, the film is backed by original music by the Great Unknown.
The film will be shown as part the festivals' "Even Jesus had an accountant... short program"
