he Jefferson Park @ 4th Washington ave, was alive with friends and family, good food and fun. Hundreds returned for the annual week long activities, Basketball games, Old heads (over 50) vs the Young bucks softball game, dj and many grills and tables feed everyone whom attended. In the shadow of the old Southwark PHA housing projects, many goodtimes and old classmates returned. NBA greats like LaSalle great L. Simmons, high school stars, coaches, great grand down to new moms attended. Scoop Jardine Syracuse star attended the event. The area has produced many mover and shakers that has contributed to the building of Philadelphia, since the 1700's. African American families date back centuries and many came to Philadelphia, settled in the area before moving to other locations, as my father and mother did. African American Dem. 2 nd Ward leader Edward Nesmith and many others hail from this neighborhood. I enjoyed the event.
